Leaving the Zone
Daily Ramble 105: Leaving the Zone
Today I take a look at how I finished off the Redeemer of Kingsmouth in TSW and how Shadow is leaving Eagle Point in American Gods episode 2. My time in Secret World Legends has been fun and I have gotten to know Kingsmouth like the back of my hand, but it’s time to move on. Just like Shadow in American Gods is leaving his old life behind in Eagle Point, I need to get going to the Savage Coast in SWL. Sure, I don’t have a house to pack up or a new employer to travel with, but I do need to get Ocarina progressing to the next level – she is 21 after all.
Redeemer of Kingsmouth
I’ve been working away at the various missions scattered around Kingsmouth over the past few months and I’m finally getting close to completion.
I finished off the Redeemer of Kingsmouth achievement which means I got through all the Action and Sabotage missions. There were 21 of those in all and while it may have taken me a bit of time to get through them, I was just trying to enjoy myself.
I also finished off the Investigation missions which granted me the Decoding Kingsmouth achievement. This image shows I still have a few left, but I banged those out this morning along with a couple of the Side missions. I just forgot to grab a screenshot.
With both these achievements done, I’ve only got the Talk of the Town achievement to finish off to be done with Kingsmouth. Sure, there’s the lair and dungeon missions, but 63 outta 67 missions means I’m a happy camper. I think I’ll try to do the dungeon before I leave, but I’m not sure about the lairs since I think they’re a bit tougher, as in end level content.
In any case, I should be able to finish off the remaining 3 side missions tomorrow and be prepared to head off to the Savage Coast.
First Watch of American Gods Episode 2 The Secret of Spoons – Leaving Eagle Point
After the “Coming to America” segment, we start this episode where the last left off – with Shadow falling from a tree and landing with pools of blood around him – Technical Boy’s minions are gone.
Wednesday has no idea what happened but he says he knows the boy and he has a plan to deal with him but they need rest first.
That night, Shadow dreams about his wife and in the morning, he heads over to the house he shared with Laura. Confirming his wife and Robbie were having an affair with a dick pic found on her phone, Shadow finishes packing things up and as the moving truck takes his old life away, Wednesday is waiting to take him to his new one.
With Eagle Point behind him, Shadow heads out towards Chicago with Wednesday. They avoid the highways because as the book says they don’t know if the highways are friend or foe, but the show just says “seen one…seen them all”. And as Wednesday blows on a dandelion fluff, it looks as though they’re headed into a storm.
They stop at a roadside town where Wednesday has a meeting and he sends Shadow to buy some stuff at the local warehouse store. While there, Shadow spots a wall of LCD monitors with one of them playing “I Love Lucy” – the actress calls out to Shadow.
Her name is Media and she offers him a job and it’s apparent she’s got similar mojo to Wednesday’s. She wants Shadow working for her and when Shadow pulls the plug, all the TVs start showing her. Similar to Technical Boy, she claims she’s the future while Wednesday is the past. She says some underestimate him, but she won’t – she’ll make it worth his while. She’ll even show him Lucy’s tits.
