Daily Ramble 73: Power Outage Flashbacks

Today we had a power outage and it was a pain in the butt, however it bounced me out of my SMITE fixation of the day and moved me into some flashbacks. In Secret World Legends I was reminded of Star Trek Voyager and how much I enjoyed that show, and then I got hooked on browsing YouTube and ran across the new Stargate series trailer. Not to bad of a day even with the power outage.

Power Outage

So there I was…playing a nice joust match in SMITE and we were playing pretty well. I had a Sol and my team included a Thor and an Odin and even without a hunter, we were dominating. It was fun, I was getting a bunch of kills and actually hadn’t died – I was 4–0 and had the mana buff and then the power went out. ARGH! It’s times like these when you really recognize how reliant you are on electricity. I was just trying to have a relaxing morning and bam – no chance. 

Now I gotta figure out what’s wrong and try to fix it. Fortunately or not, things turned out to be a local area outage rather than a fuse or something worse around my house. But over 10,000 people were without power for 15 minutes. Kinda crazy that it effected me so much when people in Puerto Rico have been without power for going on 2 months. Well, I said a prayer for the folks down in Puerto Rico and hope the support personnel get things back up and running soon. Meanwhile, I was banned for going AFK but that was a small price to pay for an was power restoration.

Orochi

In my last post I mentioned how I ended up at a new hub. This one is centered around missions for the Orochi Group and I get to learn more about their involvement in the happenings in Kingsmouth. Apparently they show up whenever there’s a supernatural event and they seem to be determine to try to keep people away and quarantine the area so they’re not too bad from my initial take.

One of the cool things is that the actor for Tuvok from Star Trek Voyager plays Harrison Blake. The other agent is Ann Radcliffe and they’ve got some missions I’m I pick up try to help them figure out the zombie infestation.

Stargate Origins

With all the supernatural and ancient god type stuff I’ve been doing lately I’ve really had a desire to watch the old Stargate movie. It was a lot of fun at the time and it holds up pretty well. As I was looking for ways to watch it though, I came across a new series they.re making called Stargate: Origins and I’m looking forward to checking in out.
