More TV than Anything

Daily Ramble 53: More TV than Anything

Yesterday I spent more time relaxing and watching TV than gaining or reading. I just felt like vegging out though based on the main show I watch, you wouldn’t think I was relaxing. Mr. Robot premiered the other day and I finally got around to watching it. To recover and let my brain come down from the mind blowing nature of that show, I cruised into The Good Place and the Impractical Jokers. On the whole I think I was successful in destroying my mind and piecing it back together but then I’m sure I’ll have to watch Mr. Robot again to get a better handle on everything.

Mr. Robot

Yeah…I watched this show…I’m not sure what I saw though since my mind can’t seem to comprehend everything that’s going on.

This is definitely a show that requires multiple viewings. There’s so much going on between Elliot, Angela, Whiterose, Darlene, and now they’ve added someone new – Irving – who I didn’t really like too much. He seems to be some kind of minion for Whiterose and helps Tyrell save Elliot after he shot him at the end of last season. In anycase, this was again a great opening episode and clearly lays out the fact that pretty much anything can happen in this show. I’ll be rewatching this but I’m eagerly awaiting the next installment as well.

The Good Place

Once again, this show pulled off another good episode. The team – now called Team Cockroaches – are finally working with Michael to thwart the other devils who want to make things torturous for them. It was a close call since not everyone wanted to make a deal with Michael since he is a devil after all, but eventually they negotiated a plan and I think the set up will work nicely for the rest of the season.

We also learned how Tahani died and it was totally appropriate for explaining why she’s in the not-so-good place. So far this sophomore season is working out pretty well and I’m still looking forward to watching every week.

Impractical Jokers

Season 6 Episode 25…
This, as usual, was a lot of fun. I have given over to the Jokers and made them my go-to show for laughter. I am almost certain I haven’t watched an episode (and I’ve seen most of them) that has not made me laugh. This is just a fun show. This episode had cloud watching, Human Resources interviews, and a great punishment that not only embarrassed the Joker, but a got a whole town pissed at him.

While the town of Dover seems to have a decent sense of humor, I certainly hope the show helped put up a different mural afterwards. In any case, the show was hilarious and one I’m sure I’ll watch many more times.
