Daily Ramble 37: Albion Healing and Superman Raising a Family
The Wild Nature Staff is a pretty decent healing weapon in Albion and after trying it out for the first time yesterday in the top tier expeditions I’m feeling pretty good about using it on a regular basis but I know there’s more to the game than being comfortable. Along with healing I also ramble about my latest read on the way to DC’s Rebirth – Superman Lois and Clark #1. Raising a family on a new world is something I never expected to see Superman have to deal with but there’s more to being a superhero than just punching bad guys. What other staffs should I try out for healing? What trials can impact raising a child when you’re in hiding? Plenty to ramble about today.
Comfortable Healing
Rambling today in Albion, I took on multiple expeditions as a healer. My trusty Wild Nature Staff was able to get me through 3 Tier 6 Expeditions, even one with a Curse Staff tank. I think after yesterday’s baptism by fire I’m feeling good about my ability to heal at least in PvE environments in this game. One issue I foresee is that the E for my Wild staff is Well of Life which does a good deal of healing for a long period of time, but if I were to use it in PvP it could prove troublesome. I can’t see a 5v5 fight going in my direction if I expected my team to group up and stand in my Well of Life – they’d be too much of a sitting target for the other team, I’m sure things would turn out badly.
With that in mind, I’m starting to look around for a healing staff that will enable me to branch out into some PvP or at least Hellgate adventuring. I’d prefer another nature staff since I’ve leveled up that class of weapon a bit, but I could swap over to some kind of a holy staff if that’ll work better.

Superman: Lois and Clark #1: Arrival Part 1
This story brings back a version of Superman that many readers enjoyed and wanted back. The New 52 edition of Superman wasn’t what a lot of people expected out of Superman and I guess this one was similar to the one who existed before the New 52 but after Convergence and somehow related to the various Crises events. I haven’t read any of those nor am I familiar with any Superman stuff from before that time so I’m just along for the ride.
For one thing, this world’s Superman is known to be Clark Kent by the world. And another is that this Superman from another Earth is trying to stop the bad guys he knew from there before they even become criminals. So he tries to help Hank Henshaw who became the Cyborg Superman in his world.
After a 10 year mission to Jupiter, Hank is headed back to Earth but his shuttle has a problem and spirals out of control on reentry. Superman guides the ship to the ground but when opening it, the only crew inside is Henshaw. What happened to them? We’ll have to wait until the next issue to see what happens as the last page actually hints at another potential problem… someone is looking for something called the Oblivion Stone and while they’re currently looking for it in a distant star system, I have a feeling they might end up on Earth soon.
What I learned:
* I always knew DC had a multiverse but this is the first time I’m actually seeing part of it in action.
* While the Whites are posing as farmers, Lois is still bitten by the writing bug and publishes under the pseudonym of Author X.
* Author X’s next big book is about Intergang who was a big bad organization on the Earth where the White’s come from, but they’re apparently on this Earth too.
* I’ve gotta pay attention to which ’verse the story takes place in since there are obvious differences.
This was a pretty good issue to start a new series so I’ll give it a B. I’m definitely interested in seeing where this goes.
