Guilds in Albion
Daily Ramble 10: Albion Guilds
I realized today, after reading a comment posted by Victor from Games And Geekery, that I haven’t really mentioned much about guilds in Albion. So today I wanted to highlight some of my thoughts on guilds.
Main Benefits of Guilds as I See Things Now
1) Guild Island
Can develop a guild island similar to your personal island. Since this island gets contributions from a bunch of guild mates, it will most likely be superior to a personal island. This means better buildings, higher level crafters, and more of them. Storage can also be opened to anyone in the guild so you can swap items. And, you can have your own guild auction house where you can sell things at better prices for your guild mates.
2) Guild vs. Guild battles
I haven’t actually participated in any of these, nor am I aware of my guild joining in these yet, but I’ve heard some cool stories. Large groups of guild and alliance mates joining together to take over territories sounds really cool and a bit like Eve Online. While you might not have the Titan vs. Titan battles of Eve, pitting large guilds and alliances against one another will definitely see some mass destruction.
3) Taking over Territory
From my understanding, once your guild takes a territory you get to control who has access to the area. Your guild gains the benefits, and there are several types of territory – farm, forest, mining, silver, and base are the ones I’ve heard of. Each one give different benefits to the guild that controls them.
4) Joining Alliances
A Guild can join an Alliance to better promote their common agenda. Grouping up can make taking territory easier and give the whole organization much more power in the game.
