7-10 for August 14, 2017

I’m not sure what I’m going to call this section yet but it is based on the 7–10 list from Too Like the Lightning by Ada Palmer. That book has a little bit of everything and is a pretty interesting read of science fiction, political intrigue, adventure, serial killer, mass murder, fantasy, magic, philosophy, psychology, religion and history. Basically if I’m understanding the book properly, the 7–10 list was a list of top influencers and up-and-coming people throughout the world. I’m not looking to do anything about world influence or top people, at least at this time, but I am looking to put together an interesting list. Interesting to me at least and maybe anybody who would like to read this.

This first list is just going to be a tester and I’m going to put together the 7–10 list for my day yesterday. Basically things that interested me and those I’d like to highlight from everything that went on yesterday which was pretty busy and crazy. Here we go…

#1)

Coming home to Mrs. Redshirt from a trip to Detroit for my brothers wedding. The wedding was great but I certainly missed Mrs. Redshirt.

#2)

The great episode of Game of Thrones that was on last night. I am pretty sure that episode had every one of my current favorite characters in multiple scenes and it was a lot of fun to see them interact and plan out the rest of the series. It’s really looking like the battle against the white walkers is going to be really cool.

Tom, the guy who drove me 40 miles in the middle of the night so I could make my flight without getting stuck dealing with road closures caused by the NASCAR race on Sunday – Thanks!

Angels on Fire! I have to say I’m pretty surprised to see my Angels in the second wildcard spot after how many injuries they’ve had this season.

I watched Preacher from last week (episode 8 – Holes) and once again I love this show. This episode was a bit slow and didn’t move too many things forward, but we did visit Hell and get to see the big guy Tyrus again.

Guardians of the Galaxy vol 2. I watched this on the plane and it was pretty good. Not as fun as the first movie, but very enjoyable for a long cross country flight.

People of Earth episode 3 of season 2 – Gerry’s Return – was fun last night. Sure, the episode was from last Monday, but I didn’t have a bunch of time last week. I was really happy to see Gerry get his recognition as an experiencer even though his memories were replaced. I’m also a bit worried about that email he got – that alien box is gonna be trouble.

That Happy song by Pharrell somehow got stuck in my head so I had to put it on my list somewhere.

The nice people at the Marriott who luckily found me a room to stay in for a few hours while I was waiting for my flight home. Too bad the bed had feather pillows.

The Walking Dead lanyard from Comic-con that I affixed to my suitcase for easy identification.
