Looking Forward to Cross-Platform Minecraft
I’ve not been a big player of Minecraft over the years but it’s always held my interest. It just seems like such a cool game and maybe now that Micro$oft is coming out with cross-platform gameplay and servers, I might just make the effort to figure out how to get into the game. While I didn’t see much from the E3 conference, cross-platform Minecraft is a game I am eager to see.
Cross-Platform Minecraft
Now that I’ll be able to get into the game with others on my iPad, I might be able to play with Mrs Redshirt on her iPad. I’m hoping the multiplayer features are easier to figure out. It’ll sure beat having to lug my laptop and her macbook into the living room – our iPads are already there.
From the looks of things, the 4k will be pretty cool for some of the longer shots and up close detailed textures, but it’s a game of blocks – not a whole lot of requirements for 4k, but…whatever.
My main drawback from getting more into the game has always been that playing with others was a bit more complicated than I really wanted it to be. As far as I know, there wasn’t an easy way to get things rolling, particularly on my iPad. And while I’ve loved Wurm Online at least there I had the opportunity to play with others – even if I pretty much stuck around my own deeds all the time.
Now that the XBoxOne and iPad and Mac and PC can all play together – hopefully nicely – I just need to find a direction to go in game. With so many possibilities in Minecraft, it’s been a tough sell to get much done – I need a project or something to focus on. I’ll start looking for that as the update draws near.
If anyone has suggestions, please let me know.
