Figuring out the Guards

I think I might be figuring out the guards and how to defeat them. The fact they are only lightly armored makes it more straight forward to go right in and attack them, preferably when they are still brandishing their crossbow instead of their sword. It’s good to take them out quickly since they don’t seem to have much problem with stamina.

Nioh Challenge Entry #11: Figuring out the Guards

It was much easier to find my way outta the tower this time around. I guess I learned the patterns of the walls or something, but I made it out in a straight run for a change.

Perhaps it’s my new outfit?

I also updated my tactics to use a spear against those knights from last time. It proved to be a smart move…

Even though I pulled both of them into the fight, I managed to defeat the swordsman and then the axe wielder. I was pretty surprised I was able to best a 1v2 with those guys. They were pretty tough.

But there are always more fights to be found.

But these guards seem to go down pretty quickly now that I’m getting the hang of things. It’s the knights in armor that still are causing me trouble, and this guy doesn’t look like he wants to die.

I may have similar armor at this point, but he still has superior skills and seemingly endless stamina and HP. I dodge, roll, block and parry, and pretty much drag out this fight for a full minute. What I forgot to do though, was to drink my medicine. If I had just healed up a bit, I think I would have taken this fight. Instead, he wore me out and beat me down till I ran outta stamina and then he sliced and diced me.

I’ll figure these knights out soon I think though – if I can drag a fight out for so long and not even use a health potion, I should be able to take them down using everything at my disposal. Also, I need to keep a better track of my Ki so I don’t let it drop too low.
