6° 2.0 Episode 4 – 4th Degree – The Fantasy Inquisition
I’m on a roll with my 6° posts with my second in a row. So to continue the 4th episode of 6° 2.0 I’m taking a look at The Fantasy Inquisition.
The Fantasy Inquisition – Epiphany’s, thoughts, and a whole lotta nothing
Commander Flynn talks about playing a variety of games, both MMOs and RPGs. Titanfall 2, The Elder Scrolls Online, Dragon Age, and Final Fantasy XIV are all touched on with the main thrust of the post looking at the differences between tanking and DPSing. As opposed to my experience, Commander Flynn leans towards DPS and Tank roles in most games. I focus mostly on healers if possible, but many newer games have moved away from the holy trinity and there is not always a definitive healer required for grouping so I’ve kinda lost my preferred role. Flynn seems to have decided on the Tank role as his preferred because they are required in each group and you can distinguish yourself because tanks are needed. DPS is usually one of many and everyone is trying to do the same thing while a tank is fairly unique in the group. I tend to agree but look to the healer for their uniqueness.
I hope Commander Flynn continues to enjoy his Tanking and look forward to hearing more about his exploits.
