Football Is Boring So I Hope The Cubs Beat The Curse
Week 7
It’s taken a while but I think I may have found a running back that can actually produce. Jay Ajayi is my savior. He ran for miles this weekend and scored me 27.5 points. Too bad he’s got a bye this week, but I suppose I can’t have everything. I’m just glad I managed to pick him up off waivers. Actually the team I play this next week tried to grab him from the wire, but I had a higher position and boy was I lucky.
This week was actually exciting to watch. I still haven’t actively watched any football game, but I was at a bar the other night when the boring Sunday night game between Seattle and Arizona was on…no wonder the ratings are down – that game was horrible. In any case, I only glanced at the game when it caught my eye.
The excitement happened as I opened my fantasy football app while the Monday night game was on. I was up by 5 points after the first half and went down to 0.8 points up during the 4th quarter. It was really touch and go and I thought I was gonna lose a close match. Surprisingly though, I ended up winning by 2.8 – I guess scoring was updated before the final was posted.
This week will be interesting. I’ve got 5 players with bye weeks so I’m back to patching together a lineup. At least Cam Newton is back – hopefully his concussion if fully resolved.
World Series
Actually, this week I am paying much more attention to the World Series. The Cubs are in the Series for the first time in like forever – any of our lifetimes at least. Cleveland hasn’t been there much lately either, but I’m pulling for the Cubs. It’s been over 100 years since the Cubs won the championship and the curse of the billy goat has been pretty strong all those years. I mentioned at the beginning of the season that I thought this might be the year they finally break the curse and now they have the chance to prove me right.
