A Longer Run and a Fledgling Rome
Fitness Quest
I went on another run today and felt great about it. I actually ran longer, faster and felt better today than I did yesterday and feel like I’m on the path I want to follow towards getting fit.
I’m still going slow and taking walk breaks but I figure that’s gonna be the way I do things for quite a while though next weekend I might mix things up by trying a 45 second run with a 30 second walk.
My quest this week is to push up from the 2 days and 6 miles I ran this week and advance to 3 days and 7 miles. I’m gonna try to get my long run up to 4 miles this week. Hopefully the weather will cooperate and it’ll be cooler next weekend.
Fledgling Rome
With so little time to play, I decided to give up on the tutorial mission and start a normal single player game. I looked through the leaders and country selections and went with random. I left the rest of the options at default…and got…Rome.
I kinda think Rome is a good civ to start with, at least it’s been that way in past iterations of the game. Starting cities with a building I think will definitely help get things rolling providing culture or gold, or other neat stuff, and the ‘All Roads Lead To Rome’ feature will be great for trade. But even more interesting, I think this will be great for the roads. In previous versions of the game, roads were built by workers or engineers, this time around, they are built by by Traders when you establish a trade route between the cities. This ability, to have roads automagically built between cities will definitely help get things from one end of the Roman Empire to the other, and the benefits will start early.
