Rambling About San Diego Rain, Strangelove, And Needing A RB
With the rain yesterday, I wasn’t able to get my 10k steps in nor my desired 30 minutes of running. Yeah…it’s hard to believe it rained in San Diego in September, but it actually came down. Of course, along with the rain came the traffic. More rare than rain in San Diego, though, is the driver who knows how to drive in the rain – it took me 45 minutes to go 7 miles home yesterday and I saw 3 accidents.
Dr. Strangelove
TCM and Fathom Events is having a showing of Dr. Strangelove this evening. It’s one of my favorite movies and I’m going to make every effort to try to go see it tonight. The TCM showings are pretty cool – they usually have an introduction by Ben Mankiewicz or the other guy and then they show the film on a big screen like it was in the theater again. It’s really pretty cool.
Over at Contains Moderate Peril, he usually talks about old movies which I always think is pretty nice. Hopefully he has an opportunity to see some of these movies on the big screen like Dr. Strangelove. These Turner Classic Movie events happen at least once a month and they’re always a bunch of fun. Previously I’ve seen John Wayne in Stagecoach which actually was the first and only time I’ve seen the movie and it really impressed me.
The bottom line is that if you get the chance to go see some of these all-time classic films on the big screen I recommend you jump at the opportunity.
Fantasy Football
Anybody have a running back I can have? Looks like my primary running back is out on injured reserve this week along with my second running back. It’s going to be a long week.
