6° 2.0 Episode 3 – 2nd Degree – Book of Jen

This is my first visit to the Book of Jen in my 6° series. Jen describes her blog as “exploring the lore of the Diablo game series”, and from the looks of things, she knows quite a bit about Diablo.

Book of Jen – Season Jouney Slayer (Season 7)

This post discusses the ins and outs of the Slayer achievement for season 7 of the game. This is a level of acomplishment that far surpasses anything I’ve ever done in the game. I started up a seasonal character last season, but didn’t get very far – I’m pretty sure I haven’t even completed the expansion at this point. But I don’t feel too bad about Slayer though since even someone that knows Diablo intimately like Jen has never made the achievement until this season.

So what does this post mean to me – a person who is woefully ignorant of Diablo? It means I have things to look forward to when I get back to the game. Jen makes the Slayer achievement exciting and I enjoy hearing how she finally made it to this level of accomplishment. I’m amazed at her tales of “320 monsters killed without taking fatal damage” and how she was able to get some of the tasks completed before the achievement window showed her they were available. But I think most importantly, I’m glad to read about someone excited to play and continue to experience Diablo. It’s such a rich world and there’s so much to do in the game that I’m sure I’d get lost going back, but at least I know there is someone like Jen who can shine a light on the highlights so I can experience them vicariously until I get a chance to go back into the game.
