6° 2.0 Episode 2 – 1st Degree – Bio Break

The first degree of my second episode revisits Syp over at Bio Break. I visited him in a 6° post in April and have continued reading his blog and since he’s involved with Blaugust, he gets a 1st degree in this episode.

Bio Break – Quest for Glory III: Joirney to the Simbani

When last I visited Bio Break in this 6° project, Syp was talking about resurrecting a hunter in Warcraft. This time, however, he’s continuing his journey in Quest for Glory III, and in this post, he’s headed to the Simbani tribe.

I’ve been enjoying Syp’s Retro Gaming posts even though most of the games I’ve never played. One thing that strikes me about thes retro games is that most of them had pretty decent stories…they relied on that because the graphics weren’t the best. These days, there are so many games that are dependent on great graphics and in my book, that’s a mistake. Story will last long after the graphics technology has improved. I mean, a story will still be good if it’s in 8-bit graphics or virtual reality, so focus on making a good story.

Syp’s Retro Gaming posts are a pretty neat way of reliving (or living for the first time) these older games. And Syp weaves his journey’s tale such that you actually get a sense of how the game plays as well as what happens and that’s cool.

I’m not sure if these posts would be considered a Let’s Play or a Walkthrough, or what, but they are sure fun to read…and it’s interesting to see the graphics that tell these. Take a look if you get the chance.
