Rambling about Stranger Things and Level 16
Stranger Things
I loved it. The show met my expectations and exceeded them. I was pleased the ‘demogorgon’ was shown but not in too much detail – there were always flickering lights and such obscuring his features, but I think he was a good big bad. The whole concept of the ‘Upside Down’ was pretty cool as well – not too well described so it left a lot to the imagination. I think the series handled them both well and Eleven was awesome.
I certainly hope the series gets a second season because it’ll be interesting to see where they go with the concepts. Will they stay focused on the little town with these interesting characters or will they expand it to more of an anthology?
10 episodes was way too short, I want more.
10 Levels of Warcraft
I haven’t played much Warcraft lately, particularly on my new computer, but I decided that since the expansion is coming soon, I should try to refamiliarize myself with the game a bit. When I last played, I was working on getting a bunch of low level characters leveled up,so I’d have a variety of classes to choose from when a Legion hit. Well, that lasted until my old computer died and I lost focus.
Instead of my overly ambitious goals, I decided to go about things in a pretty simple manner this time…I’m just gonna work with one character and I’m just gonna level her – anyway that I can.
So I picked ScarletPine, my baby Druid.
I started at level 6 in Bloodhoof Village and since the pre-expansion events are happening and I heard they give decent XP, I decided to head to one. But first I leveled to 10. This was interesting since the new leveling abilities are dramatically different than what I had previously. Instead of starting as a caster, baby Druids now start with cat form. You have to melee for the first dozen levels – so I did.
It actually was easier than I expected – I usually hate melee, but it wasn’t so bad. And once I hit 10, I headed to Orgrimmar…its been a long time…but I figured out where things were and headed to the nearest invasion – north of the city in Azshara. Once level 10, I also gained access to Moonfire and that allowed me to take part in the invasion without having to get too close.
One thing I’ll have to get used to is my new computer. I’m thinking I might lower the resolution a bit so my videos don’t take up so much space – usually I record as I go and pull out screenshots from the video, but with 4K resolution, a 10 minute video seems to be taking 20gb – quite a bit of space. I’ll figure things out, but it may take a few tries.
