Comixology Panel – #SDCC2016 Thursday
The first panel I made it to for Comic-Con 2016 was the Comixology Ask-Me-Anything panel.
Technically, it was the second panel, but I went into the Gears of War panel – there was no line – and set myself up for the day and then went out walking. The Comixology panel was one I was interested in, but was not on the top of my list for today.
It was an informative panel with discussion about getting your comic published via Submit, reading the French comics using the app, and if the Windows Tablet version will get a download option. The panelists were knowledgeable and answered everything. They’re really a quality act over at Comixology. I’m using them for most of the comics I read except for older Marvel titles which I can get through Marvel Unlimited.
A couple of good questions dealt with the Comixology Unlimited and they said they’re adding more titles every month, and another question dealt with comics available on Kindle but not Comixology – apparently they are working to make sure the availability is the same for the app as for Kindle. I’m pretty sure Matt is a regular host of the Comixologist podcast and Tia has shown up on it a few times as well – at least their voices sounded familiar.
As for the Gears of War panel, instead of having a NECA exclusive this year, they went with Funko…everyone seems to want a Funko these days.
