A Look at Saturday’s Panels for SDCC 2016
Saturday’s schedule has quite a few panels I’d like to see, but they are all over the place and as usual, they occur at the same time.
Ballroom 20 looks pretty good though there are a few gaps in what I’d like to see. I really would’t start until noon when The Simpsons panel runs. Then I’d skip to 2:30 with the Grimm and Supergirl panels and then skip to 5 for The Flash. The inbetween panels aren’t bad, but not something I’d be focused on seeing.
Hall H is jam packed starting with Warner Brothers at 11:30 then Star Trek and Aliens 30th anniversary. Those cover the afternoon and then the big hitters of Marvel and Kevin Smith starting at 5:30. While I’d like to see all these, it means getting a wristband on Friday to get in as I doubt the room will be easy to get into after things start.
Indigo is a bit less crowded today with only Lucifer at 1:30 and the a couple of SyFy shows – The Expanse and The Magicians at 3. Son of Zorn and Last Man on Earth might be decent as well, but I’ve not heard of Zorn and Last Man got a bit old last season.
6BCF might have he most consistent panels for my interest Saturday starting at 4 with Dirk Gently’s Holistic Detective Agency which looks like a promising new show on BBC America. This is followed by Outcast, a show I’m really enjoying, Riverdale which is basically Archie live action, Frequency which is a new show based on the movie which I enjoyed, and Time After Time which covers the adventures of a young H.G. Wells. Not a bad run of panels.
There are a couple of Manga panels starting at 7 in 23ABC that I might take a look at. 6A has the panel I’d be most desiring to see particularly if I miss the earlier panel, but Stan Lee is there at 1:45 and of course I’d like to see anything he does. 24ABC has the panel I’d like to start out my day with – William Gibson who is making his first Comic-Con appearance. And then 30CDE has a panel I enjoy most years, the spotlight on J. Michael Straczynski.
On the whole, Saturday is packed but all over the place. I’ll probably try to spend most of my time in 6BCF again but might try a foray into ballroom 20 for a couple of panels. Always so much to see.
