Looking at Friday’s Schedule
Friday appears to be another day focused on television programming for the most part. There are of course plenty of comic panels and I may look into seeing particularly those dealing with DC’s Rebirth, but my main focus might be Shatner and Stan Lee in 6BCF.
Ballroom 20
Starting out with a couple of throw away panels as far as I’m concerned with Big Bang and Bones – I’ve seen both and neither inspired me to watch the show nor see the panel again. At 12:30 though, The 100 shows up and that is a show I continue to watch and enjoy – I might try to see them, but as you’ll see, there is something conflicting that I kinda weight as more important to see. As far as Agents of Shield, I’ve kinda fallen off in watching, but their panel is usually pretty decent at 3, but it’s iZombie at 5:30 that would really draw me into this room Friday.
Hall H
There are a bunch of big panels in here today of course. Fear the Walking Dead, The Walking Dead, and Game of Thrones dominate this room from 10:30 to 3:15 and will probably max out the line here pretty early. It’s the later panels though – South Park at 5 and Preacher at 6:30 that are more my speed. I usually stay away from the hordes in Hall H, but for those last two, the crowds might be more manageable.
Room 6BCF
While I like iZombie and The 100 and Preacher is a fun watch, I kinda think the most interesting panel for Friday might be in this room at 12:45. Shatner Singularity Universe looks from the description as though it might have two of the high lords of Comic-Con…William Shatner and Stan Lee appearing in the same panel. The panel is supposed to highlight the graphic novel projects of these two along with others so it could be really interesting and legendary to see them both at the same place at the same time. Later at 3:15, Neil Gaiman’s American Gods will have a panel, which I think will be one of the better new shows coming out in the next year.
Indigo Ballroom
This room has the usual animation block for Friday, starting with Steven Universe at 10:15 and then running with Robot Chicken, Rick and Morty, Samurai Jack, Bob’s Burgers, and Archer – some good cartoons that always have pretty good panels. I’ve seen most of these before though, and I don’t see Venture Brothers so I might pass on these on Friday.
Other notables
Bates Motel in 6A at 3:30 looks good, but there’s so many conflicts today, it almost hurts – it may also be the last time this panel is here since I think this next season may be the conclusion. The Tick is gonna be over at the Horton Grand Theatre at 2:30 and I’ve heard they’re gonna be putting together another live action version soon. DC has a few Rebirth panels for Superman and the Justice League in 6DE at 1:45 and so far I’ve been enjoying those comics.
In all, Friday looks lretty interesting. I think I’m gonna focus on 6BCF at least at this point, but we’ll see as I examine the rest of the schedule.
