Had to Rent the Finale of The Americans from Amazon
The Americans
Just watched the season finale of The Americans last night – we thought we had recorded it a while ago but when we tried to watch it, it was some infomercial or something. Instead, we had to rent it from Amazon to see the actual episode. Lots of stuff went down and it even looks like this could be the series finale, so much so, I had to check Google. Nope – it appears there’ll be another 2 seasons. Good! I really like this series and it brings back 80s nostalgia. They sure keep getting close to being found out this season. In the end though, it was clear they were not ending the series as they kinda left things in an unfinished state, but it was a petty good season ender. I’d definitely recommend watching the show if you haven’t been keeping up with it already.
League of Legends
With my main computer down for the count, I’m playing on my old Mac Book Pro. It’s still a pretty good machine, but the graphics aren’t there for much more than League. And with the last patch, Leauge has been a pretty rough ride with with client crashes and fights to maintain server connections. Sadly, with my main machine down, I also lost most of my info on my run to Silver…yes I did make it to Silver this season for the first time and so far, I’ve been sticking there. With the connectivity and Bugsplat issues I’ve been having in patch 6.13, things are bit more touch and go as I’ve dropped a few games due to those issues and am running at 50-50 in the win column. The game is playable and I am slowly making progress…perhaps I’ll make it to Silver IV before I get my new computer.
I’ve still been using Zyra as my main support but have branched out a bit to Nami whenever Zyra gets banned or picked by the other team. With her rework this season, that’s actually happening more than ever. People always seem to migrate to the flavor of the month. For a couple patches, Zyra was it…but now that she was nerfed in patch 6.13, I’m not having as much troubles picking her, but people still think she’s OP. I’m actually a bit tired of all the bad Hecarims and Ashes that are running around trying to take advantage of their current state.
I’m pretty sure Riot switches up who’s OP based on $$$. They have a target level of $$$ they know they can get when a new OP champ shows up…when they hit that level, they switch to another champ. I mean really, when was the last time you saw so many Hecarims out there? Or Ashe? Everyone ran out to buy the latest OP champ and soon…probably patch 6.14, they’ll be back with the the rest of the pack after Riot made their $$$. I’m all for capitalism, but it really stinks when they mess up the game.
Sooner or later I’ll break outta this win one-lose one streak and back to my winning ways…or my new computer will show up and I’ll move to another game.
