NBI2016 starts in June but my Priest hit 6 today
Newbie Blogger Initiative 2016
Wow…I suppose it was 4 years ago now, I started Beyond Tannhauser Gate when I came across the first Newbie Blogger Initiative. Hard for me to believe. I’ve had my ups and downs in posting, tried my hand a various social media, and have followed many of the bloggers both veteran and newbies from the NBIs that have run from 2012 to last year.
In early April I asked on Twitter if there was gonna be an NBI this year and was greeted with sad news that there was no organization going on so it was cancelled. The initiative takes effort from new bloggers and veterans alike. The forums need to be fired up again, hashtags and Twitter handles need to be managed, graphics need drawing, coordination needs to happen. But people have lives and things to do so we were gonna skip a year while everyone recharged and looked forward to 2017.
Fortunately though, Doone of XP Chronicles decided not to let this year pass without this great community event. But instead of a May start, we’re gonna run things in June.
I’m pretty excited as this yearly event brings old and new together and the community becomes stronger for it. So, I’m gonna do what I can to contribute, reading blogs, commenting, talking about my experiences, joining in gaming with fellow participants, and trying to be more active on social media.
This year we’re trying a new communication tool…Discord. Oh sure, we’ll still hang out on Twitter and such, but Discord is the new shiney to try out.
For an invite, go to…https://t.co/bZLA0YGZSk.
Along with Discord, the forums are still around at: http://newbiebloggerinitiative.com/forums/
And of course Twitter communication: @newbieblogger2 and #nbi2016
Things are gonna start up in ernest on June 1st so you have plenty of time to get started. The NBI is open to all bloggers whether you’ve been around years or are just starting out, whether you are a gaming blogger or talk about other things.
Everyone is welcome.
CrimsonCross made it to Level 6
While the NBI starts on June 1st my priest reached level 6 today. Not much of an achievement, but I did get some new spells and moved further into Tristfal Glades.
Again I draw a huge difference between the Forsaken starting zone and the densely packed Goblin town of Kezan. Things in the older staring area just seem more refined and clean – even though the buildings are falling apart. I’m sure as I adventure more things will become more similar as I start to encounter areas that all races and classes have in common.
But for now, I’ll focus on my abilities…
Adding a little DOT.
And then I get some protection.
I’m really enjoying the low level priest, but as with anything in the early levels of WoW, there isn’t much to worry about that will kill you unless you get swamped by a large gang of mobs and they just don’t happen at this level.
