Snowdown in April
I Janurary I played a bunch of Snowdown and enjoyed the Poro King and this weekend the random game selection brought the King back. Last time I stuck with my usual champs, Lux, Zyra, And Brand at the time, but this time around I thought I would shake things up a bit.
One champion I’ve been looking at as a possible addition to my stable is Trundle. He seems to be a viable support pick right now and he can also roll as a top laner or jungler. I’ve never played him in any real sense, maybe an ARAM or something, but I don’t really recall. In any case, I decided to give him a shot with the Poro King.
But before I went with him, I threw down 3 wins as Zyra. I was too frustrated with ranked play, I had to do something to get some wins in so I took her. She’s still pretty straight forward in ARAM and I like her with the Poro King. After winning 3, I took Trundle for a spin. He definitely can take some damage. I used support masteries and runes – basically how I would take him in bot lane.
My first game was pretty good, and I’d have to say Trundle can be fun. Once I picked up Spirit Visage and Dead Man’s Plate, I was seemingly unkillable. His skills take a bit if getting used to, but he can hit hard and take a beating. I went 1-2 with him in Snowdown, so I’m not the best, but I could see taking him against a Leona or Blitz to support an ADC.
The other champ I wanted to try out was Aurelion Sol. He was also a lot of fun in Snowdown. It takes a bit of getting used to his passive, but it can really do some damage once you get things going right. I still need to learn how to best use his Star Surge and his Comet of Legend is just a speed up in ARAM so that will need some practice on a real map, but he is fun. I ended up going 2-1 with him and might think about using him as a midlaner sometime.
In all, I went 6-3 in this weekend’s Snowdown event. It’s a fun version of the game and a good break from ranked play.
