99 Days Until San Diego Comic-Con 2016
With 99 days to go until the San Diego Comic-Con, I made some progress on attending this year…I signed up for the parking lottery.
Last year was the first time I actually pre-paid for parking, but I think it was a pretty good decision. Each year, with the crowds that attend and congregate downtown for SDCC, it can be impossible to find parking. In years past, I did one of two things…I would take the trolley downtown or I would park at Horton Plaza, the big downtown shopping mall.
Last year, and this year, I decided that I would pay the extra cost to have the convenience of parking close to the con. It makes things a bit easier storing anything I want to purchase but not carry around, it makes it easier to head home whenever I want, and it means I know exactly where my car is gonna be everyday.
The parking situation has changed over the years and with 130,000 people attending and many more going downtown for the spectacle, what used to be easy now requires the pre-paid option. So I signed up for the lottery. If I get in a group, they'll let me know later this month, and in May they start allowing the groups to get spots. It's not quite as stressful as getting tickets to the con, but I sure would like to have my parking situation resolved as soon as possible.
