Journey to Silver games 6-10
Do you think about love and sex when palying video games? I don't. I suppose if there is some kind of achievement for seducing an NPC, I might deal with it, but Izlain, Eri, and Doone tackle the subject in a very interesting episode of Couch Podtatoes. Give it a listen – they cover the topic pretty well.
A game I think might engender the exact opposite feelings of love is League of Legends. I suppose people fantasize about some of the champions and write fan fiction incorporating the characters, but there is nothing remotely sexual that I can see in League and in fact, the typical toxic atmosphere is antithetical to positive emotions.
Journey to Silver
In any case, I made some more progress on my journey to Silver. After rolling up a 3-2 record in my first 5 games, I repeated the deed in games 6-10. I started this run at 43 LP and proceeded to lose my first game as Zyra support. I did everything I could, but even my 66% kill participation and 10 kills could not carry the game from support. We gave up 21 more deaths than our opponent, and they took advantage of that to win.
Game 2 was a standard 30 minute affair in which my Zyra support helped Lucian to score 10 kills and carry the match. We led the whole game and dominated as a team with 35 kills to their 21. In game 3, I actually played mid lane for a change, and this one turned into the longest game of the five, running 45 minutes. I racked up 15 kills on my way to a 3.8 KDA and a 62% kill participation and I miss playing mid. The reason it lasted so long was we actually were behind for the first 40 minutes of the game only to score an ace at minute 42 which gave us the push to take down their nexus.
Game 4 was a bad game for me. I got an assist on first blood, but that prompted their jungler – Vi – to spend quite a bit of time harassing me and my ADC. I played Zyra support again and learned the hard way that Vi can really hurt a lot when she ganks bot lane repeatedly. Not only was this a bad game for me, but my ADC, Draven, would not engage when I locked people down. It created a really bad situation bot lane and even though I had a 62% participation rate, the fact that my ADC only got 2 kills set us way back. With only 25 kills as a team we couldn't keep up and lost at 37 minutes.
The final game of the set saw me playing Lux as support with a Varus ADC. This time I got first blood as Varus was unable to finish off Cait as she ran back under their tower – my thorn spitter got her at max range. That started a good game even though once again, my ADC didn't really engage when I snared people. Fizz mid lane and Garen top lane carried though and we won in 32 minutes. I delivered a 2.7 KDA but only a 45% participation rate since Varus spent most of his time running the wrong way.
On the whole, I went 3-2 again in this set of games. I ended up with 73 LP and am getting close to my first promotion series of season 6. Hopefully the next 5 games will see my break through to Bronze IV.
