Update Fail, Rocket Good
Well, it finally happened…I rolled in an update to site and everything went haywire. I suppose it's not too bad since I didn't lose any of my posts – as far as I know, but the layout got really messed up. Guess it's time to try something a bit new, and at least update the look of the site.
I'll work on it over the next few days or so, but for now…here yah go.
Rolling with Rocket
I decided to give Marvel Heroes 2015 a shot today and boy did I have some fun. My first try was with Captain America and while he was fun, I wanted to go for something a little less melee. I usually enjoy healers in MMOs, but I couldn't really find a definative healer in this game and I wasn't sure I wanted to go with Storm who was the only champ I found reference to that had healing powers – it think there are others, but I guess I didn't look too hard.
So with Cap not being my cup of tea, I looked for a fun hero and found Human Torch. Flying around and shooting fire in people's faces was pretty cool for the 8 levels I gained with him. He's pretty much all ranged which I like, but he's also squishy – after going 10 levels with Cap and not even getting close to dying, I found I had to pay attention to Torch's health bars. Dying twice in 8 levels was not what I wanted…look for another hero.
Then I found Rocket Raccoon. He's a blast!
He shoots pistols as a basic attack, but then has a big gun that does area effect electrical damage as one of his first abilities. He gets a dash and a stun grenade, but these are just some of his general skills. The two I like most so far are – My Friend Groot – which summons Groot to fight with him and tank. He seems to be pretty indestructible so far and deals out some good damage as well. The other ability I enjoy are his turrets. Drop them down when you enter a room and they mow down anything in range. This is definitely my style of gameplay…if I can't heal, I want a pet and some things to keep the bad guys off me. No deaths, just Rocket and Groot causing mayhem.
So for my third level of the year, I leveled Rocket to level 2. It was pretty quick – took about 3 minutes, most of which was reading and waiting for a cutscene to finish.
