New Modem and I Hate TWC
I've heard that Google Fiber may be headed my way. San Diego is on the short list for upcoming cities to receive the new Internet competitor. I certainly hope it happens…I've been fighting all day to get online and finally am using my cellular connection on my iPad to post this…
Time Warner Cable is one of the worst services I have ever dealt with, and it is one I have to tolerate or I get no internet. I suppose I could migrate my entire system to AT&T Uverse, but I've heard that isn't even as good. The 'other' cable provider in San Diego is Cox, but TWC and they have partitioned the city and there is practically no where that you actually have a choice. I find it so hard to believe that in 2015 Americans get no choice in Internet providers – they each get their own monopoly. It is ridiculous!
So today has been fun. I had connectivity this morning, but as with things the past 2 weeks, it was intermittent. I had to reboot 3 times in 2 hours. So much for trying to get in a game of League of Legends. So I called TWC and of course they couldn't fix anything but they would be more than happy to send someone to my house to tell me things are broke. I opted for purchasing a new modem first to see if that would solve my problems.
Well I didn't get the chancery first…We had a power outage. 2 and a half hours later I was able to head over to Best Buy and grab a new modem, but when I tried to hook it up…no joy. Apparently an hour AFTER the power outage was fixed, TWC had an outage…and now it is 4 hours later and still no cable. I haven't even been able to activate the new modem!
Oh well…I certainly hope Google Fiber shows up here. I'll be on board from day one.
