Big Crazy Dreadful Robot
Since I've haven't been feeling well I've ended up watching a bunch of television lately. Along with a bunch of the silly 'shark' movies on SyFy for their Sharknado week, I've watched some pretty good shows.
Mr. Robot
Once again, Mr. Robot was great, but this episode had me feeling a bit confused. I am no longer sure what is real and what is make believe in the show as we go down the rabbit hole with Elliot as he does morphine, heroine, and into withdrawal. This still seems like a wonderful movie each week and I really enjoy it though it can get kinda heavy, and with all the drugs and reality questioning it can drain my attention. I just wonder if Elliot is shot or if that is just a metaphor for him taking the heroine after going into morphine withdrawal.
Penny Dreadful
The last two episodes of this show were pretty intense. We confront the witches in their castle and Ethan goes full on werewolf. There are some wonderful scenes with Mr. Claire and Ms. Ives, and Dorian and Lily are starting their plot to take over the world. With Ethan headed back to the States, Sir Malcolm headed to Africa and Dr. Frankenstein in his drug induced catatonic state, it will be interesting to see how they pull together a season next year. I'm so glad this show was picked up, but once again, this is a pretty heavy show.
Big Crazy Family Adventure
After watching hours of intense shows I needed a break. No drugs, no conspiracies, no Devils after people's souls, no witches, and no evilness of humanity, I needed something happy, and this show fits the bill. I watched episode 5 since my TiVo finally cooperated and recorded it for me, and the family travelled to Kathmandu. Riding an elephant and seeing rhinos in the wild was great, and Bodi and Taj's excitement really make my day. Though I did think it odd seeing their glee at playing with leeches. With all the shows I enjoy each week, this is the number one show I go to when I want to see something that will make me happy. And yes, Taj, I think your mom would love getting the sword for her birthday!
