Considering when to donate blood
Robert A. Heinlein Blood Drive
With the programming schedule for SDCC2015 due to begin filtering out tomorrow, I am starting to consider the timing of my annual blood donation.
Each year it is always a tough choice when to get to the blood drive, even more so since they moved the drive out of the main convention center. This year, the beds are located at the Manchester Grand Hyatt which is still close, but a walk that takes one away from line waiting or panel sitting. Last year, I did a walk-in donation since I couldn't make up my mind when I would go before the con. Hopefully the schedule will make a time clear so I can set up an appointment this year – it's always nice to have a fixed event to go to that doesn't require line.
League of Legends Alt
I've become a bit frustrated with my play on my main League of Legends summoner so I decided to take a step back and start an alt. Sure, it will take a bit of time to get up to level 30 and the ability to play in ranked matches, but I think this will be a good learning expreience. Along with the grind from 1 to 30, I think I am going to try to work in a similar manner to Heroes of the Storm and require myself to play games against bots before I use a champion in normal games. As I mentioned previously, HotS requires a summoner to gain a few champion levels before they have access to all the champion's skills. To simulate this, I'm going to hold myself to bot games for the first 3-4 games I play with a champion. I figure that will give me some time to become familar with the abilities, what kind of escapes they have (if any), and how tanky/squishy they are. It will also give me some idea of what gear to purchase as the game progresses. Hopefully this will set me up for some better gameplay and I can help myself with ELO hell.
