Well she's not going to be using that greatsword for long. The problem though, is that I skipped the tutorial. When you skip the tutorial, you still get bumped up to level 3 as I found out, but you have a limited number of items that are provided when you arrive in Vulkhel Guard. I later found out that the Prophet does give you a bow in a Sealed Urn, but I did not know that when I started. While this is not a problem in the truest sense because even a magic user can use a two handed sword, it is a bit strange that the only way to get a staff when starting is to go through the tutorial. I actually had not figured out where to get new weapons yet so I stuck with the greatsword.

The bottom line is to be careful when starting if you want a weapon other than a sword. BTW, in the tutorial, you can get a 2 handed mace, a destruction staff, and a sword and shield.
