A Few Interesting Sites I Ran Across Today
Just wanted to mention a few things that I found of interest today.
Game of Thrones Cosplay
Today while listening to one of my favorite podcasts, Slice of SciFi, they had an interview with Tom Grey from Stan Lee's World of Heroes YouTube channel. During the interview they talk about a Cosplay video of the Game of Thrones music.
It is pretty cool, particularly the animation of the piano at the start and the dragons later on. I liked it enough to subscribe to the channel in hopes that there will be further videos of the same quality. The ones posted so far are a good combination of music, costuming, and cinematography.
XBox One update
A second story of note today deals with the horrible PR that Microsoft has had to deal with since their E3 announcement about the wonderful Internet connectivity requirements and game sharing capabilities of their upcoming XBox One. Rightfully so, they got assaulted by gamers complaints and even Sony got in on the deal with a great YouTube video.
Well, today Microsoft took everything back. They realized the errors of their ways and are no longer requiring an Internet connection every 24 hours, and the DRM that was to prevent game trading and sharing is not going to be included. Great to hear that a company in fear of losing the next gen console wars before they got started, actually listens to their consumers for a change.
Neverwinter Online goes Live
Finally, Neverwinter Online goes live today.
I spent a few hours in the beta and the game is fun. They claim to have fixed class balance issues, and I certainly hope they fixed the problem of people designing farming dungeons for easy XP gain – at least make people play the game to improve their character. I'll give this game a run – the cleric and mage looked like fun classes in the beta so I'll see how they play now that things should be more normalized.
