Gaming by the Hour – week ending 6/10/2012
This week has been heavily focused on Diablo 3 and advancing my Wizard further. Lenora has made it to level 28 and is currently running towards the end of act 3.
I tend to run with an electrocute/disintegration build, particularly when grouped with a melee character. I find that this build works well in pumping out damage when I don’t have to worry so much about getting hit. To compliment those two damagers, I typically use ice armor and frost nova to slow down and stop enemies if they get too close. I am sure this is not a perfect build, but it has worked for me so far.
I also put in an hour of WoW this week, and as opposed to last week, I was able to get through Madness of Deathwing, but as expected, I did not get a maw. I don’t think I ever will.
Eve was pretty quiet this week. I flew around a couple of times, but enemies were evasive or hard to find, nothing like the excitement of the previous couple of weeks.
Finally, this week I decided to give a new game a shot – Arma2. I wanted try this since there is an ‘alpha’ mod out called DayZ which features a persistent world and zombies. Unfortunately, I spent almost 2 hours, after I downloaded the game and mod, trying to connect to a server, struggling to get “just the right configuration”. I think that just getting this game started is a quest that should provide a significant XP and loot reward! I did manage to get things running eventually, and true to the nature of this game, I died within 10 minutes of starting. Hopefully I’ll get better.
