Another Short Ramble While I Read

With the holidays upon me, I only have time to throw together brief rambles these days. It’s fine by me and I hope you enjoy them but I’m hoping to get something a bit more substantial soon…perhaps after Christmas.

A Bishop and and the Americans

Things are really starting to heat up for Myfanwy and the letters Thomas sent her are coming fast and furious. In the next couple of chapters we’re given a full dossier on Bishop Conrad Grantchester who was the previous holder of the Rook position Myfanwy finds herself in. In fact, he was the one who put all the ‘special’ secret passages and security in the Rookery. He also has the interesting ability of losing gasses out of pores in his skin that can have all kinds of properties from knockout gas to deadly poison…definitely not someone to mess with.

And after we see another meeting – Myfanwy is an administrator after all – we learn that the American version of the Checquy are coming over for a visit. Apparently this group, the Croatoan formed shortly after the British established Jamestown and they’ve got their own Bishops, Rooks, and such.

It’s a Wrap

Chapters 14 and 15 are really starting to quicken the pace in The Rook and it’s getting exciting. We’ve almost received briefings on all the members of the court and we’re even seeing the Americans come to town. While I’d love to put more into my rambles right now I’m too busy with holidays to do much gaming or anything else. I’m jsut happy to be publishing anything right now.
