Six Degrees of 2017: Kamalia et alia
This is an installment of my Six Degrees 2017 series in which I take a look at the wonderful blogs that surround Beyond Tannhauser Gate. The blogosphere is large but there are so many friends to be found within Six Degrees.
Kamalia et alia
Kamalia et alia is the first site in 2017 that I’m visiting that ranks as a 3rd degree site in that it’s 3 steps away from me, but it’s definitely one I’ll come back to when I’m looking for WoW fashion advice. Feckless Leader led me here so I thank him for pointing me to such a fashionable and alt friendly site.
Kamalia is the main of what appears to be a horde of Warcraft alts that are associated with this site. Not only is she a high level Druid, she also has a great sense of fashion. The first post I looked at, Royal Gala, clearly shows how talented she is. She built up a Yellow and Purple transmogrification kit – with a variety of looks and I’m really impressed. As far as I recall, I’ve never transmog’d anything but I’ve heard of people who put on fashion shows and costume contests ingame. Kamalia could easily compete with these outfits.
But more than fashion, the site covers all kinds of Legion gameplay. In the low-hanging fruit of the Nightmare, Kamalia talks about going through Val’sharah a number of times and how at first she watched all the cutscenes and listened to the dialog. Eventually, she turned down the volume, skipped out of the cutscenes, and started skipping the side quests entirely. She’s definitely more dedicated than I am – I still haven’t made it all the way through the zone, much less farmed it with alts – no wonder she’s got enough gear to put on a fashion show. In any case, it looks like she’s having no problems getting the Tear of Elune for her Pillars of Creation collection.
Not only does Kamalia plan her own outfits, she is known for her fashion sense, so much so that others ask her for suggestions. In pink Mog ideas for Navimie, she offers fashion advice for a friend and shows that not only do you have to pay attention to color but also material. This time, she’s wearing leather so she has to adjust accordingly. I really like how she’s got the Deep Earth Raiment chest piece as a primary feature of her pink outfit.
But of course to put all these outfits together, you have to spend time out in the world, and in Kamalia’s done with World Quests… for now, I start to learn about how she gets all these outfit ideas. I’m truly in awe of the dedication Kamalia has, not just for her own advancement in Warcraft, but for her alts. She’s determined to get through all 12 of the order hall campaigns – that’s a lot of content. She’s already gotten all 3 of her main’s artifacts to 35 traits and topped them off for the current patch level. That means she’s only got all her other alts to go…quite a bit of a trek, so she’s determined to focus on that rather than go for the new shiny when 7.2 releases. I admire her for that dedication…I just wish I had the focus to get my ONE main to max level, much less a bunch of alts.
Finally, I take a look at a post that is part of a series Kamila puts up on a somewhat regular basis – Sunday on the Promenade 17. Once again it looks at a variety of great fashion outfits she’s put together. I really feel that going through her site is like watching an episode of Project Runway. From this installment, I’m liking the Age of Aquarius and the Gold Digger outfits, but I really love the Safari Hat from the Great Jungle Hunter kit – I’m gonna have to go find me one. I wonder what Swatch would think of these designs.
With my trip to Kamalia et alia at an end, I look to follow her blogroll to my next destination..Bubbles of Mischief. This’ll be my first trip to a 4th degree site in my Six Degrees of 2017 series and the 5th site I’m visiting overall.
Where I came from: Feckless Leader

Of course, it’s always fun to visit a site with lots of activity I find interesting. Glad to have you in my Six Degrees.
